Sequela

A lasting condition that results from an earlier injury or illness.

A sequela is a pathological condition that results from a prior disease, injury, or treatment. In impairment evaluation, sequelae of an industrial injury — such as chronic pain, stiffness, or secondary conditions — may themselves be ratable.
