About Us

Impairment.com is owned and operated by Workers’ Compensation Educational Services, LLC, the team behind WorkCompCollege.com. We are honored to carry forward the work established by Brigham and Associates, Inc., preserving and building upon its tradition of excellence in evaluating the complex issues often associated with workers’ compensation, personal injury, automobile casualty, and long-term disability cases.

The systems, content, and educational resources available through Impairment.com were developed by a team of leading physician experts who served clients across the industry — attorneys (defense and plaintiff), insurers, corporations, non-profit entities, governmental agencies, and health-care providers — and who worked alongside other organizations to drive positive change in related fields.

That foundation was built on standards of excellence established through the review of more than 50,000 cases. The resulting programs provide accurate assessments adapted for all state and federal workers’ compensation programs, the Defense Base Act, the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Act, international law, and bodily injury claims. The work has touched cases in all US states, with consulting engagements internationally, including Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, and Italy.

Impairment.com was founded by Christopher R. Brigham, MD, one of the nation’s leading authorities on the use of the AMA Guides® to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment and former Editor in Chief of the AMA Guides® Newsletter. Dr. Brigham serves as Advisor to the AMA Guides® Editorial Panel and has authored over 300 articles. The physician consultants who shaped this body of work were directly involved in editing and writing the AMA Guides® themselves — making the resources here authoritative by their very origin.

Workers’ Compensation Educational Services, LLC is proud to steward this legacy. Integrity, innovation, and excellence — the core values Dr. Brigham instilled — align directly with our own mission to advance education, certification, and best practices across the workers’ compensation and workers’ recovery community.
