ImpairmentAssessment™ - Impairment
Resources reviews the applicable medical
records including imaging study reports
such as MRI’s and X-rays, electrodiagnostic
study reports, consultation reports,
operative reports, and physical therapy
notes and estimates the permanent impairment
rating in those cases that do not yet
have a calculated impairment rating.
The assessment of the estimated impairment
is explained in a written report.

ImpairmentScreen™
- Impairment Resources reviews the physician’s
impairment rating report to determine
the probable correct impairment rating
for each ratable diagnosis using the
applicable edition of the AMA Guides.
Impairment Resources reviews the impairment
values for each ratable diagnosis and
provides a brief written report outlining
the conclusions as to the accuracy of
the original impairment rating assigned
by the physician. When there is a significant
variance between the original rating
and the Impairment Resources’ rating,
Impairment Resources will contact the
adjuster and recommend an ImpairmentExpert™.

ImpairmentExpert™

a physician’s impairment rating report
to determine the probable correct impairment
rating for each ratable diagnosis using
the applicable edition of the AMA Guides
and assesses all critical issues. The
ImpairmentExpert™ includes multiple
levels of review by highly skilled professionals.
Impairment Resources analyzes the physician’s
rating, and other pertinent medical
records including imaging study reports
such as MRI’s and X-rays, electrodiagnostic
study reports, consultation reports,
operative reports, and final physical
therapy notes and provides a detailed
narrative report.

ImpairmentLetter™ - Impairment
Resources writes a letter to assist
the adjuster with obtaining the appropriate
impairment rating from the physician.
There are two types of Impairment
Letters: Letter of Guidance (pre
rating) and Letter
of Clarification (post rating).
The letter is sent directly to the adjuster.
The letter may provide discussion points
regarding the diagnosis or apportionment
as it relates to the calculation of
the impairment outlined in the Guides.
The adjuster may incorporate the Impairment
Resources’ analysis into the letter
they are sending to the physician. If
the ImpairmentLetter™ is authored by
a Physician Reviewer, it is recommended
that the Impairment Resources’ letter
is sent by the adjuster directly to
the physician or is included with the
medical records sent to the physician.
It is suggested that all letters are
sent per jurisdictional requirements
and in most cases it will need to be
copied to the claimant or opposing counsel.
